FTP Basics

What is an FTP?
FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol and is a standard network protocol used to transfer files from one host to another host over a TCP-based network, such as the Internet.

What does that mean to me?
Connexity lists your products on our sites and partners to help you acquire more traffic and buyers. FTP is the method that you will use to send us your product listing information such as product name, description, image, price, and tracking link. You will save this data in a text file that we call a data feed and use the FTP method to upload the information into the Connexity system.

Where do I get an FTP?
In order to update your feed from your FTP location, you must first download an FTP client. There are many free FTP programs such as Filezilla which you can download here: http://filezilla-project.org/download.php?type=client

What do I do next?
  1. Create your data feed. Download the specs and find more information here.
  2. Create your FTP location here:
  3. Open your FTP client and enter your FTP credentials (username and password).
  4. Upload your file to the FTP client. Click here for further instructions.
  5. Let us know the file is there and we will set it up!
Please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you still have questions here.
